DONOR COUNTRIES

• FINPYME® was the IIC's first program supported by donor partners. In 2000, the IDB's Spanish Trust Fund approved the launching of FINPYME in Bolivia and Chile, as a pilot program. The diagnostic review methodology was developed with the support from Spanish experts.
• With the admission of Korea as a member of the Corporation in 2005, the Korea-IIC SME Development Trust Fund was established and enabled the IIC to reconsider initiatives such as FINPYME®.
• To expand the program in the region, FINPYME® Caribe will have support from the Korea-IIC SME Development Trust Fund and the Austrian Trust Fund.

LOCAL BANKS

• Local banks have showed interest in becoming part of FINPYME. Six banks in the region are interested in becoming local financing partners for the initiative.
• The IIC has offered each bank up to US$2 million in credit lines specifically to provide financing for FINPYME® participants. The banks are considering this offer.
